Conveyor belts for the food industry

Our conveyor belts are used particularly frequently in the food industry. Our heavy-duty conveyor belts with water-permeable surfaces and side attachments are ideally suited for use in meat, fish or cutting plants, i.e. wherever it is important to maintain the highest hygiene standards while ensuring absolute reliability. Our belts for medium-duty transport are also frequently used in the food industry, whether in production or logistics. Thanks to the flexible design of our conveyor belts for the food industry, a wide range of suitable gears for every drive and intelligent construction, Movet has become a major partner in the food industry.

Multiflex chains: When it needs to be a little more flexible

With Multiflex chains from Movet, you can significantly increase flexibility during transport. Our Multiflex chains offer excellent flexibility in both curve directions, allow high tensile forces to be handled thanks to reinforced links and hinge rods made of stainless steel and offer the best quiet running properties in daily use. The special design of the Movet Multiflex chains allows deflection radii from 140 mm. This makes the Multiflex chains particularly suitable for use in washing plants or for container transport. Multiflex chains from Movet also keep operations "running" in the food industry, logistics, the pharmaceutical sector or the packaging industry. With a wide range of sprockets, Movet guarantees the optimal use of every Multiflex chain, individually and precisely matched to your company's needs. Why not give us a call right now and let us advise you on our Multiflex chains!

History of conveyor belts

Conveyor belts can be found on every automated production line today and have become so ubiquitous that they are not noticed at all in normal everyday operations. Yet it is worth taking a closer look at conveyor belts, because behind these inconspicuous technical products lies the fascinating history of industrialisation. Conveyor belts are not a new invention. As early as the late 18th century, in 1790 to be precise, the American inventor Oliver Evans from Delaware used conveyor belts in his fully automatic, patented flour mill! The 19th century can already be called the age of the conveyor belt. In 1804, the British navy used a conveyor belt for the first time for the production of ship's rusks, driven by steam and extremely efficient for the time. Conveyor belts and food were thus closely linked more than 200 years ago! Finally, in the 20th century, the conveyor belt finally made its breakthrough. In Europe, it was a certain Ludwig Roselius who used conveyor belts for the first time. In his production plant in the port of Bremen, the conveyor belts transported coffee - once again we find the close connection between conveyor belts and food. In the USA, conveyor belts helped Henry Ford bring his Ford Motor Company to resounding success. By using conveyor belts, Henry Ford was able to reduce the time needed to build a Model T car from 12 hours to just 1.5 hours.
