Take Up Units from MOVET

Take Up Unit is the designation for ready-to-mount assemblies consisting of a solid outer housing and single-row ball bearings with sealing on both sides. The units, also known as Y-bearings, are able to compensate for misalignments due to their static pendulum function between housing and bearing. Take Up Units are often designed as pillow block bearings, which makes them very easy to mount and comparatively inexpensive to purchase. This type of bearing is particularly suitable if mainly radial loads are to be accommodated. Take Up Units with plastic housings are used for applications where the load capacity of the housing plays a subordinate role. Take Up Units Function

The Take Up Units function is based on deep groove ball bearings with a crowned outer ring. Due to a hollow spherical locating bore, the units are able to compensate for misalignments that may occur during assembly or manufacturing of the shaft. With Take Up Units that do not require relubrication during operation, misalignments of up to 5° can be reliably compensated. Thus, this type of bearing can be used even if the structure on which the bearing is mounted is not perfectly aligned. The Take Up Units can simply be mounted on a shaft and are usually fixed there using grub screws. This type of mounting is also suitable for changing directions of shaft rotation as long as the loads do not become too high.
